On Saturday September 20th, WAHA will host a Mead & Cider Clinic at Larry's Brewing Supply. There will be discussion about mead and cider styles as well as making mead and cider. There will be information about where to obtain fruit and must for cider and honeys for mead. Additionally, there will be information about judging these styles. To coincide with this clinic, there will be a local Mead & Cider only competition about this time next year. Come to the clinic, learn about making mead & cider, make a mead or cider and then enter it in the Mead & Cider only competition next year.
On Friday September 19th, The Impaling Alers will host a mead making demponstration by one of their long time club member meadmakers, Rich Webb. Come Friday night as well and watch mead being made.
If you've never made mead or cider before, here's a couple of great opportunity to explore these interesting styles. Check out the WAHA Calendar. More details to follow.

The Washington Homebrewers Association is an organization of Washington homebrewers representing clubs across the state as well as “independent” homebrewers aiming to push Washington homebrewing to a higher level. By pooling efforts across the state, we hope to help educate, coordinate, and celebrate homebrewing in our state.
We will be developing some new programs and tools aiming to help raise homebrewing awareness in Washington. As we go through the development process, we want your involvement and support!
We are continuously adding content to the site, so please get registered, start using the resources, and post in the forum.
Thanks for your support and keep brewing strong!
Washington Homebrewers Association’s Missions:
-
Promote Washington Homebrewing
-
Foster Communication and Participation in Washington’s Homebrewing Culture
-

Mark your calendars onow for an American Homebrewers Association (AHA) Membership Rally on August 23rd at Big Time Brewery from 5-9 pm. It is looking like we'll be featuring more than half of the Puget Sound Pro-Am beers for your sampling. Bill Jenkins, the brewer at Big Time, will be giving tours. Several of the winning Pro-Am brewers will be there in case you want to pick their brains about the scaling up and brewing of their homebrews recipes. We are also trying to make it into a showing of WAHA so you'll be able to meet up with the officers and reps (wear your WAHA shirts!) There should also be some appetizers available and we'll be holding a raffle. Basically just a great time to mingle with fellow beer lovers and homebrewers.
EVERYONE BECOMES AN AHA MEMBER! Join or renew in advance or at the event. A discounted AHA one-year membership rate of $33 will be offered at the door. Once you're a member - entrance is FREE! If you are already an AHA Member, entrance is FREE, but don't miss this great membership rate of $33. Renew at the event! You can also join with a FAMILY MEMBERSHIP rate of $43 (you'll receive one Zymurgy magazine per household and all registered family members (limit 4) become card-carrying AHA Members with full benefits!). This works for "roommates" as well. For designated drivers, entry is free, but does not include an AHA membership.
We encourage people to RSVP in advance.
You can find more info on AHA rallies on the AHA wesbite.
Print out and post the rally flyer.
