Senator/Legislator ####,

I would like to ask for your support on Senate Bill 5060 which affects transportation of homemade beer and wine. The bill would allow homemade beer and wine to be transported out of the home of production for use at small private events like club meetings and dinners with neighbors or at larger events like a conference. This change would create an environment fostering community-based improvement for the future leaders of Washington's tax-generating craft beer and wine industries, allow enjoyment of homemade beer and wine as a savored and respected component of Washington culture, allow grass-roots community involvement in home and craft production movements, permit Washington to host large tourism events like the National Homebrewers Conference, and allow for clear application with consistent and practical regulation wording. Enactment of the bill will not cost the taxpayers anything but instead will inspire future tax revenue generating professional beer and winemakers, support Washington state's agriculture as a producer of brewing ingredients, and encourage homemade beer and wine tourism events.

I have been making homemade beer and wine for 10 years.  The members of this community do a great job of seeking improvement to their practices through interactions with fellow beer and wine makers. They teach others about beer and wine characteristics making them better consumers.  After carefully crafting their product, they practice and model responsible consumption their beverages.

I would like to ask that you support Senate Bill 5060. I would be happy if you contacted me with any questions about this bill or the homemade beer and wine making community.  Thank you for your time.
