WAHA is sponsoring another BJCP Beer exam! Let's build up the judge pool in the Eastern part of Washington State!
As with all BJCP exams, space is limited to the first 12 respondents, though Steve will also set up a waiting list in first-come, first-served order.
There will be a small deposit of $15 to secure your spot. The deposit will be refunded if you cancel before Midnight, April 30, 2011. (1 week before the exam). The cost of the exam is $50 for first time takers, $30 for full retakes, and $15 for partial retakes.
The exam itself is 3 hours long. It consists of an Essay part, containing 10 written questions, and a Tasting part, consisting of 4 evaluation beers. The judging sheets for the tasting part will be graded along side those of experienced BJCP judges who will evaluate the same beers and serve as proctors. You can find information on the exam here: http://www.bjcp.org/ and http://www.bjcp.org/examcenter.php
So far, there has been interest in setting up exam preparation classes in the Tri-Cities and Yakima. If you are interested, please contact me and I will refer you to the appropriate folks.
Thanks!
